I hadn't meant to put a second political post two days in a row because I really rather be thinking about happy crafty things(as this is how I deal with the crap that exists). But something else I saw on T.V. last night upset me. I watched a bit of The John Stewart Show. And they showed a blurb of Jerry Falwell on the Wolf Blitzer show. He said something that made me angry. Ok what doesn't Jerry Falwell say that makes most people angry. Falwell said that he hoped in God's name that we find the terrorists and kill them. Doesn't Falwell realize he is the same thing as those fundamentalist muslims? Why is he putting religion into this?! What kind of religion promotes hatred of anyone that is different?! Why is everyone out to get each other?! It's frustrating and scary. Hello Falwell we aren't going after terrorists! You are just part of the machine that has tricked half of America. That has separated half of America by confusion and fear. How are we any different than the countries we are trying to "liberate"!

I know we don't see eye to eye on politics, so I don't want to get into a long debate. I just have one question. Isn't a leader who tortures his people, uses chemical weapons against his people and steals from his people a terrorist? In the same sense that Adolph Hitler was a terrorist.

Everything is so convualuted. America was bombed by Osama Bin Laden not Sadaam Hussein. Why have we heard basically table crumbs about Osama? The time we took in finding Osama was ridicoulous. There is no denying Sadaam is a terrible awful monster who should have been dealt with long ago but I trully do not believe we are in Iraq for pure reasons. If I did and I think if most people did we wouldn't have much of a problem with America being in Iraq. If we were after Osama wholeheardelty I don't think most of us would feel so strongly against this war. I feel so awful for those soliders and their families. I cannot even begin to imagine what they are feeling. Maybe if it was a just war it would be different I don't know. But I do believe that there are people such as Falwell who are spin doctors lying in the name of religion to pretty decent human beings for their own gain.

I agree that Faldwell is wacko. I think whats happening in Iraq is a lot like what happened in eastern Europe in the late 80's early 90's. The first step was tearing the Berlin wall down, that caused a domino effect and communism fell in eastern Europe for the most part. I think by trying to get change to occur in Iraq and Afghanistan it will set an example for the rest of the region and hopefully encourage change throughout the whole middle east over the next 10-20 years. Something has to be done to get this strap a bomb to your chest and walk onto a bus mentality out of peoples mindsets.

But we aren't playing with the same type of people that we did with Eastern Europe. These fundamentalists are whole new set of wackos's who are similar to Falwell in their fundamentalist believe. They hate and try to destroy in the name of their God. To put it mildly is terribly wrong. I have no problem at all to help people but I don't believe we are in Iraq out of the goodness out of our hearts. And I think that Afghanistan and Iraq are not the same war. Afhanistan is supposedly where Osama is why not put more soldiers there? Why so many in Iraq? It was myth that Sadamm had any weapons to start conqering the world and it was very horrible what he did to his own people but why isn't the rest of the world assiting. Why are we the lone saviors? I think partly it has to do with the current gov't has turned off most other countries. There are so many elements to this sad story.
