Product Review-Mrs. Freshley's

Since Hostess closed down my beloved Snowballs are no longer. I didn't eat them very often. I guess part of the reason why Hostess closed down. My husband found a good replacement Mrs. Freshly's. And although they don't taste exactly like Hostess did they are quite tasty. And lighter. I didn't get that feeling of eating fifty pounds of Snowballs after I only ate one or both that came in the packaging. Plus I like the name. They tasted very "fresh".

I should have paid attention to the packaging. But see I am stubborn. Now I really think I have found a snack that is too spicy. Even for me. Someone who LOVES spice. It's Flaimin Hot Cheetos. Holy Moly there is a lot of Tobasco sauce in them!

The other day I was at a convenience store I don't normally go to when I noticed two packages of potato chips. But not any potato chips. They were from Burger King. One was fries and ketchup flavored and the other was flame broiled burger flavored.

I only purchased the flame broiled and took it home to share with Niel.

We both agreed it tasted like BBQ flavored chips, was a bit thicker than normal chips. It was interesting to try but only a one time experience.

I read in my local metro an article about potato chips from around the world. I couldn't find the article online but I was able to find other article about the variety of potato chip flavors available.

A few that stood out to me were. A lamb flavored potato chip is available in Argentina. A New Zealand potato chip offers a salmon and caper chip. And a Kimchee flavored chip is available in Japan.

The husband came home with a small bag of a new flavor of Combos. Combos with Salsa. The crust is made from corn chip and the filling of course is salsa. Holy cow was it a tasty snack. Must find some more.



Another Combos flavor I would love to find is the bacon, egg and cheese one.

So I had forgotten my lunch, money and my debit cards today. I luckily found some change in my bag to buy a snack. I decided on the healthy route, not for any particular reason at all other than the ingredients on the front of the bag intrigued me. It promised of olives and garlic in a nacho chip. Two of my favorite ingredients. It was the worst nacho chip I have ever had in my life. They were flavorless and left a terrible aftertaste. I asked two of my friends at work to also try it. One agreed with me. The other thought it was alright. The funny thing is the name of company is Foods Should Taste Good. You would think that if you promise that in the name that it would actually deliver. Blech.

Niel recently discovered one of my favorite brands of fruit rolls is sold at the fruit stand at the corner of our block. They don't have the flavors I like(grape and apricot) but I was happy to see they still sold Joray. The brand is readily available in my parents neighborhood where I first tried them of course. So whenever we go do our fruit and veg shopping there(cheaper and better quality) I purchase some.
