A pipe bomb went off in one of the subway stations near my office on Tuesday night. Apparently it was a cop who set it off.

If I allowed myself to cry, I would never stop.

No time for Sudan.

Sometimes I wonder when a blogger has not updated in a while where they are. But I don't want to ask since I don't know them too well and don't want to come across as a weirdo.

We've been eating a lot of chicken this week in various recipes. Monday night we ate roast chicken, yesterday I used the remainder of the roast chicken in a Paella, and Saturday I intend on making bbq chicken pizza and Sunday a chicken dumpling soup. It's funny the eating cycles one goes through. A few weeks ago we were eating a lot of ground Turkey.

I've been trying to make salads that are a little more diverse. Instead of the regular salad we eat(romaine lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrot and feta salad with olive oil, vinegar, garlic and Adobe dressing); I've made Tabouleh, Ceviche, and tomato, mozzarella and basil salad. They have all been yummy. Yesterday I even brought a Japanese ginger salad dressing to eat with our regular salad. It was very good!

Thank you to Michele for emailing me her Mango Salsa recipe. It looks delicious. I hope to try it out soon.

I finished reading Gypsy Masala. It was an interesting and quick read. The story focused on three characters:Bali, Sheila and Evita. They all had their own version of the story in the book. It went from childhood to meeting one another. The event that brings them together is the couple in the story Sheila and Bali cannot have a child. Bali's adopted niece Evita comes to live with them after her parents die in a car accident and how this change affects them. The story was beatifully written.

You know what is funny I don't much like chicken meat either, but I have found pretty decent recipes to try out that give it flavor. So I thought why not.

Thanks again Michele. I have to remember that combo. It does sound good together.
