Don't let the picture fool you. The pork is not burnt. The mushroom soy sauce I used to marinate the meat makes it a bit dark. But the pork was very tender. I adore Korean food and last year for my birthday my husband, daughter and I enjoyed a Korean feast. One of the items we enjoyed was grilled pork belly wrapped in a lettuce leaf. I marinated the pork in mushroom sauce, Sriracha, garlic and sesame oil. And cooked it in the marinade on the stove. I added some chopped scallion on the top for an extra kick.
