Over eleven million Americans claim Scottish or Scotch-Irish roots in the US, making them the eighth largest group in America. To commemorate all they have contributed to the US, April 6 is National Tartan Day. There are events happening nationally all week. In New York City there is a Tartan Village in Grand Central Station, museums are showing various historical movies on Scottish immigration and there will be a parade on April 14.
