I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Niel and I went to Maine with Niel's brother, Mike. We went to visit Mark and Becky. They have a lovely home and were gracious hosts. It was primarily decorated with stars but they incorporated Mark's naval accomplishments, his love of Star Wars and Becky's love of The Wizard of Oz. We got to meet their mix breed doggy Zeda and their two kitties Micah, and Delilah. Micah is black and white and loves being held like a baby. I'm not joking. We never met a cat like that before. She gets up on her hind legs and extends her two front paws towards you and you pick her up and she hangs out on your shoulder. She loves it!! It was a treat hanging out with the animals. We also got to meet some of their friends. All very nice. As well as seeing Kelvin and Shawnda. We unfortunately missed them last weekend they were in New York. There was so much food! Mark and Becky are both great cooks. Becky made great blueberry and lemon bundt cake(which she graciously gave me the recipe for), potato salad, macaroni salad, regular salad, grilled chicken, amazing corn which was buttered herbed and baked in the oven, humongous shrimp wrapped in bacon(Mark made,) home made peanut butter and chocolate squares. Kelvin helped out with the bbq(hot dogs and hamburgers) and breakfast. Niel made his famous blueberry and apple cobbler and we brought up home made brownies. Becky's friend Elizabeth brought a delicious cherry and vanilla cake with almond topping. We sat around eating and talking on the deck or inside. In the evening we sat around talking by a fire pit. Nice and leisurely. Everyone helped out one way or another. Shawnda also introduced me to the wonders of
Smirnoff Ice Twisted. I loved the grape and apple! I also tried a spicey pumpkin beer which was good. I am no means a big drinker but the fruity stuff alcoholic drinks which don't taste alcoholy I can do. I just have to be careful not too drink a lot of it. It's difficult not to because they taste so sweet and yummy. Niel and I also slept on the comfiest air mattress. The company that makes it is Coleman. Mark and Becky also live a few blocks from a river and Niel and I took a stroll down there to look at the boats and people fishing. I hope to see more of New England now that we know how easy it is to get up there. Afterwards we drove down with Kelvin and Shawnda, the cars racing each other, got lost going to an outlet, but ended up in Porsmouth, New Hamphshire. Nice and quaint. Got to meet Kelvin and Shawnda's kitties and hedgehog. All cuties. I am also not a photographer but I enjoy taking pictures so get ready to look at a lot of pictures of this weekend here.
