I am a late bloomer when it comes to enjoying tropical fruits. Only recently have I enjoyed Avacados and this week was the first time I tried a Guava. It is really tasty. Sort of looks like a lime on the outside and the inside reminds me of Passion fruit taste wise but denser. The color is similar to a watermelon. Maybe I will eventually enjoy Mangoes and Papayas.

You're not alone. I think a lot of people eat the more traditional summer fruits like peaches, plums and watermelon because they are more widely available. I ate a lot of tropical fruit on our last trip because it was readily available. Mangoes are my favorite. They almost taste like peaches, with a little more bite.

My parents & brothers love mangoes, guava, papaya, etc and use to buy them when I was younger but I never enjoyed it much. I always liked coconut but preferred berries, tart apples, mandarin, peaches, nectarines, sometimes bananas cherry's and strawberries. I think it was a taste thing for me. I guess tastes really do change even when getting older.

I like trying new fruits too. I never tried the guava but Mango and papaya are really good. Sometimes I wait until fruits go on sale before trying the new stuff.

I didn't say I never tried Mango. I just didn't enjoy it. But that might change someday just like it had with Avocado.
