I was watching My Name Is Early last week on NBC when I saw that Missy Pyle was the guest star. She has a pretty recognizable face. I then tried to remember all the movies I had seen her in. Dodgeball, Galaxy Quest, Big Fish, and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory to name a few. She is a versatile actress. And has no problem being gussied up or looking not as attractive. And not just doing it to win an Oscar. I like that acting is her profession and she is not fodder for the tabloids. So think back you may have seen her in something also.

I think I saw her in a Steve Martin movie. I forget the name. The actor I kept seeing in A LOT of movies is Philip Seymour Hoffman. I've seen him in Scent of a Woman, Twister, Magnolia, Boogie Nights, The Talented Mr. Ripley and I'm sure in some others. I'm glad he's finally getting a lead in Capote.

Yvett I saw PSH(as I call him LOL) in the Big Lebowski. Funny movie by the way. My husband likes him to and the movie!

Very true Jess!

PHS! Lol! I call him "that guy". When I first started seeing him all over I'd say "Hey there's that guy again". Now I know his name but still call him "that guy".

Glad you found it funny Yvett. I copied the way some people calle Sarah Jessica Parker, SJP, so I thought why not for Philip Seymour Hoffman? Yours is funny also:)

There was a time when I was obsessed with the acting of PSH, FMH (Felicity M Huffman - pre-Housewives days) and WHM (William H Macy).

PSH is awesome I still beleive if they ever made a movie version of teh Chuck Pahlinuik book Survivor PSH would be a great Tender/Adam Branson.

That's right I forget about WHM. LOL you're abbreviating too.

Hope they do make Survivor into a movie and cast PSH.

Im really torn about William H. Macey. I think he's a great actor, but he's only in a good movie once every few years. I enjoyed his work in Fargo (a movie about quilting) and in the Cooler. He needs to whore himself out like Robery Denero and just work in any movie that comes along. William H Macey in Rocky and Bullwinkle 2.

My favorite initialed actor is JLH. Jeniffer Love Hewitt. My most hated initialed actor SJP.

Glad you got a copy of the movie. That is funny your hubby was mentioning Missy.

Which book are your reading? My husband loves Chuch Palahniuk's. They are a bit to dark fro me.

I've only seen a few movies of WHM.

I thinks SJP is too over marketed turning people off.

Bringing Down the House is the movie with Steve Martin that she's in. I love that movie. She has also had parts in Anchorman (it was a bit part), Galaxy Quest and Dodgeball (another one of my favorite movies). So she's quite a versatile actress.

Hi Enid! I have not seen Bringing Down the House. Yet anyway. We have Anchorman and Dodgeball on all the time in our house. It's always on cable. I have not noticed her in Anchorman but now I have to look out for her. I heard it's the zoo scene. I do remember her in Galaxy Quest and Dodgeball though even under that makeup she has a distinct look. Yep we both agree she is quite versatile.
