Like London, New Orleans was another city that I have always wanted to visit. A city filled with an interesting history, good food and one large fun party. Niel told me stories of his visit there during college. The delicious meal of jambalaya he enjoyed, the sites and booze. And now I don't know if I can ever have the same opportunity to visit. As everyone knows they're one of the cities affected by hurricane Katrina. I am so sorry for all the people who have suffered with the tragic weather. I hope The Big Easy along with the other cities and its people can rebuild.

I was thinking just yesterday how lucky I was to have seen it before this devastation. It will never be the same again, I'm afraid. Wish you had gotten to see it to. But the people will be the same and they'll rebuild and hopefully something cool (and authentic) will come out of the tragedy.

My parents and brother went once without me and it was one of those places that I'd always wanted to go to. It's so sad to see what has happened. My friend was born and raised there and her family still lives there. I can't imagine how I'd feel to see the place where I grew up end up looking like that.

I'm sorry you never got to go either Yvett. Such a trajedy. No homes, jobs, schools, family/friends to go back to. They're refugees. Having to start all over again. I hope your friend is ok.
