I am trying to grow herbs again. Yes I know I'm out of my mind. There are perfectly good herbs I can buy at my local veggie stand, but I end up throwing a way a lot of it because recipes only call for a little amount. I heard if you put pebbles under the soil. It can help with the water irrigation. This is my fourth attempt at trying to keep herbs alive. And hopefully this way I can be economical and not wasteful. Plus I really am enjoying how the pots look on my window sill. It's also part of my 101 list which I am still compiling. Crazy me also decided to also take up the challenge of trying to grow beefsteak tomatoes (I would have preferred grape tomatoes) and greens. Below are the various pics. Wish me luck.

I first placed them in small pots.

Then moved them into larger pots. These are the first signs of life.

I hope I see some tomatoes soon and I hope the greens grow larger.

This picture is for Hannah who wanted to see a pic of the Pear Tart I had made with the pears from Harry and David.

OMG! I just heard that song on my way to work! I also just got an email that my sesame street labels were on the way. Happy Herb Growing.

Interesting. The herbs should be able to grow ok inside. But Im not so sure about the tomatoes or other fruits and vegetables. I think they need to be polinated and without bees I don't know if that's possible. But Im not 100% sure about that. Keep us posted.

Thanks Laura. I hope ours grow too. Did you use fertilizer?

Thanks Yvett.

I have plant food and there's bees up here.

I'll update.

Ani, I know there are bees in NY. But I thought the pots were in your apartment. So how are the bees going to polinate the plants unless you have bees in your apartment?

The tomatoes are outside on the window sill. I thought you were talking about the tomatoes.

The herbs are on the inside of the window sill and they are growing. Per the pictures. I just hope they stay that way.

Ahh then you should be fine with the tomatoes. I was picturing you and Niel in bee costumes dancing around the flower pots. Like a Blind Melon video ;-)
