With all this warm air I have been daydreaming lately of having a backyard and have bbq get togethers, with good food to please the senses, pretty plates and glasses, and good company.

Luckily I have a stovetop grill and have been sustaining my fantasies by grilling recipes on it for Niel and I.

I am also putting together a food blog. I will announce when it will be up.

The discount Gods took pity on me and threw me a sale. They knew how I suffered looking for a certain dress and skirt to go on sale. When the sale came, neither item was available. Yesterday I planned on begrudgingly paying full price for two other items that I did not want to lose such as I did previously. I happily discovered both were on sale and available. Yes!

We watched Along Came Polly last night. I wanted to see it for a while and thought I would enjoy it. I so did not. The only good part of the film was the ending was not a typical Hollywood one. Otherwise I thought the acting was mediocre. I know movie/TV show makers usually try to condense the moral of the story within a half an hour to two hour time span so I do not get angry when this happens. I expect it. I do have to say how amazed I am by PR people who can spin the plot to make a movie seem a certain way, but the film is about something else entirely.

Afterwards we viewed Extreme Dodgeball on the Game Show Network. That was a lot of fun to watch. Two of their commentators were semi famous people. The floor host was Jeri from Survivor and the booth host was a runner up who previously competed for an ESPN gig. I forget his name. I think it was Zack. Niel would know for sure.

This heat in the city has been intense and it is not even Summer yet. On Wednesday afternoon I went to a health fair for one of our clients to represent my newspaper. My coworker and I were beet red by the time it was over. I have very fair skin so this happens easily.

Tomorrow the Olympic Torch will be coming through my little neighborhood. We plan on watching this momentous event. I am excited.

Thats cool that the torch is making its way through the boroughs. Hopefully you'll be able to snap a picture of it as they run it by.

Disapointed to hear about Along Came Polly. I was looking forward to watching it. That movie Secret Window with Johnny Depp was the same way. The trailer and previews for it make it seem like a completely different story that it really was. But iot actually turned out to be a pretty good movie. Just not what we expected.

I was thinking to myself I hope the person does not run by too fast that they will just be an orange blur.

I thought the same thing about the Johnny Depp movie like it would be a thriller. But nope. But sometimes you find a jewel.

Not familiar with your camera, but if your camera has aperture priority mode usually indicated on the little wheel as Av mode, set the aperture to the lowest number setting (widest opening) the camera allows. This will allow in the most light and give you a better chance of getting an image that isn't blurred.
