A place I have been wanting to try for a bit has been Yona Schimmel's Knishery. Niel and I got the opportunity this past weekend. I heard they sell very good knishes. We purchased a plain knish, a cheese and jalapeno knish, a sweet potato knish, and two Latke's(potato pancakes). The sweet potato knish was my favorite and their Latke's are mighty tasty. They also make sweet knish's but we only purchased the savory this time. They also deliver world wide.

2nd Avenue Deli or Katz's? Did you get the square knish or the round one. Yeah it depends how it's made. I love Pyrogies too!!!

What is a knish?

Hey Shannon thanks for stopping by. A Knish(I put a link to it in my post)is a filling covered with dough. Usually the filling is mashed potatoes but other ingredients have been used for the filling. It is an Eastern European delicacy.

Do you like plain Knishes? Yeah in store is cheaper then delivery. I guess the perserving and mailing is pricier for food. When are you guys coming up?

Yeah I have only had the plain potato ones in the past.

Not sure when we are coming up. My mom is supposed to come down to see my sisters new house once she's settled in. Then I'm driving my mom back and staying in NY for a few days. Ill let you know when I have the details.
