Pretzels have really come a long way. Although I liked the plain one fine with a bit of mustard. Niel taught me that. There is Auntie Annie's who sells really soft pretzels in a variety of flavors and dipping sauces. But I recently discovered a new type of pretzel. I was down in SOHO looking for a chocolatier and was nibbly. So I stopped at a street vendor and noticed he sold stuffed pretzels. Honestly I never heard of stuffed pretzels before this revolutionary day. He had a few different varieties to choose from. I like heat and cheese so I chose his Jalapeno and cheese stuffed pretzel. It was pretty good. And didn't dry my mouth out like the regular hard kind sometimes does. Now SOHO was the only Manhattan neighborhood I have found stuffed pretzels but I did a bit of research online and there are many companies who sell them. Just Google stuffed pretzels and you'll be amazed at what you find. I've successfully made bagels before maybe its time for me to try making stuffed pretzels. Hmmmm.

I'd never heard of stuffed pretzels but it makes sense. They sell stuffed churros here. You know what churros are, right? Well, they're stuffed with chocolate, marmalade or caramel. Yum!

Are the churros still fried?

Yvett said...

Yeah, still fried. They make them the same but with like a hole in the middle. When the churro is made, they fill it with a long metal straw-like thing. Like a syrup. DELICIOUS!

There's a golf course down here that sells "gourmet" hotdogs that are so good. My favorite is the south of the border dog. It's a hotdog topped with nacho cheese, peppers, tomatoes and onions.

Okay. You have tell me what street corner this vendor is on. I work and live in Soho and really need to try this. Well, not really...

Oh Meghan. I'm sorry he's in a different spot every time I go down there. I hope you find him! Sometimes I don't have luck finding the cart. I did find a guy who sells them by the Museum of Natural History.
