Yesterday was a busy day but fortunately it made the work day pass by quicker. I've oddly adjusted to this time change quicker than usual. I think the Fall time change is easier on me. Although I really don't like going home in the dark. This entire week is going to be pretty busy for me at work. It is hard to get back into the swing of things with a collective week paid time off in October.
Picked up the special Holiday Cookies issue of Martha Stewart Living. There will be much baking in the Foodie Chickie household.
The November issue of All Things Girl is out. There are five new stories in my section. So please check it out. And if you have any articles you want to write submit here.
I made garlic infused olive oil this weekend. It was pretty simple. Made a bottle for myself and one for my mom and mother in law to give for Thanksgiving. Hopefully the garlic will really blend into the olive oil by the time turkey day rolls around. I think I will make chili oil for myself next.

I don't mind the change. Just going home in the dark is a bit scary.
Oh, I love your new header! Great look! :)
I hated going home from class in the dark in Chicago - it was really scary walking several blocks home from the bus in the pitch dark. I always had my mace in my hand! I don't particularly miss that feeling.
p.s. Does Martha have some good cookie recipes? I've not tried hers. I have an awesome cookie recipe on my sidebar (which I've named Thin Mints) - EVERYONE should try them because they are simply divine!
Thanks Victoria. I appreciate it! I hope you enjoy your new town. I haven't tried Martha's cookies but I plan on it for the holidays.
Nothing says holiday treat better than cookies! I'm thinking I need to find that Holiday Cookie magazine to use for my baking adventures this year.
Good luck finding it. Let me know what you make:)
Ani, I tried making garlic-infused olive oil a few years ago to give as Christmas gifts. After a few weeks, the bottles turned NASTY ~ there was stuff growing inside them. I had no idea what was going on, and then I read an article about how you should only use the oil for a week and then throw it out ~ because it can cause botchulism. I'm sorry to tell you that, Ani, but it didn't work out for me at all. Maybe you could make them really close to Thanksgiving instead and give them as gifts then? I just don't want you or anyone else to get sick. :( Maybe there's a way of sterilizing/sealing the jars that I don't know about? I just wanted to warn you!
Oh dear lord!!!!!!! I used a Paula Dean recipe. Ewwwwww!!!!! Man they looked so pretty too. Thanks for the warning. I think I may have to throw them out. Ewwwww!!!!!!!!
Ok just read this article that if I refrigerate them and use them withing two months they should be ok. Well there goes that gift idea for next year. http://homecooking.about.com/library/archive/blcon3.htm
