As mentioned previously the Saturday before I left Niel and I went to the annual Mermaid Parade in Coney Island, Brooklyn. It was our first time there and it was a very neat experience. We ate yummy Nathan's Hot Dogs(our first time eating them in Coney Island) and enjoyed the festivities. We heard that Buster Pointdexter was the King of the Parade, although we didn't see him. There were loads of people in their underwater costumes; such as mermaids(of course), sharks, crabs, whales, but also various organizations also walked in the parade. There were punks, goths, the polar bear club where we saw Holly's brother Jay (nice guy), and a few naked chickies. All in all it was a good time and I do recommend it. Pics here.

WHAT WAS I JUST WATCHING that had footage of those Mermaid parades???? A documentary or something! Anyhoo....I said to Jon, "that looks cool" and my country boy was like, "I dunno, it would kinda freak me out". What a dork. Glad you 2 had fun anyway!

Oh that sounds fun Jess. If I ever go to SF I'll have to try to coordinate my trip around that time.
