For Mother's Day Niel and I took our moms out for lunch along with Niel's brother, Mike. We went to a Malaysian restaurant in Forest Hills called Panang, that Niel and I had been to some time ago. The food was flavorful and creative. The ambiance was equally inviting. There was bamboo in the front when you walked in, bird cages were used as lamp shades, and the air vents were peeking out in the ceiling, which looked very trendy for the area. The menu offered Malaysian, Thai and other Asian dishes. For our appetizer we dined on crispy meat rolls with sweet sauce, seafood spring rolls with spicy sauce, beef and chicken satay with peanut dipping sauce and for our main meals there was spicy shrimp, ginger steamed fish, curried beef, spicy Mango chicken(served in a Mango!) and Pad Thai. Besides drinking water, we also ordered some lime aid(yummo), and Malaysian iced tea. Which seemed very British influenced because there was milk in it. Or maybe the British were influenced by them. Anyway it was also quite good. My favorite of the things I tried were the spicy Mango chicken and ginger steamed fish. I was happy to see the restaurant was busy and that there is such variety in that part of the borough. Attached are pics.

That pad thai looks great. Not so sure about iced tea with milk in it though. We're having Thai food tonight for dinner. Yummy!!!

Really? You like Thai? If you like regular tea with milk then you would like the iced tea with milk. I do recommend Pad Thai if you are having Thai.

Yeah they opened a new Thai restaurant near our house and we have been hooked. We even got Rachel's parents interested in the place.

I remember that song. I saw them in concert and it was weird!
