I read in a local paper that am Marjane Satrapi is coming out with a third autobiographical graphic novel, Embroideries. It will be a continuation of her two first books which I loved (Persepolis and Persepolis II)). I highly recommend her work!

I found three neat quizzes I would like to share.

The first one I found on Goldeelox and Progodess' blogs.

Your Linguistic Profile:

50% General American English

30% Yankee

15% Dixie

0% Midwestern

0% Upper Midwestern

This one I found on Niel's blog. Well this one is not really a quiz. There are apparently some celebrities who give an alias when they check into hotels for privacy. Niel found a site where they give regular folk alias's too. I am Kobe Arizona. The neat part is there is an option on the site that will give you information about your new last name, which is usually a state. This is what I found out about Arizona.

And this last quiz I found on Dave's site.

INFJ - the counselor
You scored 13% I to E, 50% N to S, 4% F to T, and 7% J to P!

Your type is best summed up by the word "counselor", which belongs to the
larger group of idealists. Only 2% of the population share your type. You
are so empathic that you often know what others need before they know themselves.
You are a complex person who can deal with complicated issues and people,
almost prefer to, as you love problem solving. You can be something of an
idealist or perfectionist, and should try to take yourself a little less
seriously. You are a supportive and insightful romantic partner, encouraging
your mate to have dreams and work hard to make those dreams come true. Because
you are so creative, you have a wealth of ideas to help them toward those
goals. You need harmony so much that you are driven to resolve conflict
quickly, as long as the terms don't violate your ethics. You feel the most
appreciated when your partner admires your creativity, trusts your inspirations,
and respects your values. It is also vitally important that your partner
be open and emotionally available - in other words, that they be willing
to share themselves completely.

Your group summary: idealists (NF)

Your type summary: INFJ

On the speech quiz I am
65% general american. The rest are yankee and dixie. It is a cool quiz but English was my second language. Spanish was my first and I wonder how much of that has an influence.
My "name" turned out to be Gina Croatia. I'm off to take the rest of the quizzes. Thanks.

Yeah I know the documentary you mean. I cant remember the name either.

Here's some results from people at work. This is from my boss who grew up in upstate NY:

20% Upper Midwestern
15% Yankee
0% Dixie
0% Midweste

A co-worker who grew up in northwestern Virginia

60% General American English 25% Yankee 15% Dixie 0% Midwestern 0% Upper Midwestern

My friend Eugene who grew up in Ukraine and now lives in Brooklyn:

75% General American English

I think the quiz needs to be little longer, but I find it very interesting

I love how you're a little dixie! I took that and somehow ended up with 5% upper midwestern. Must be my Minnesota husband rubbing off on me. Fun quizzes! I'm off to do more!

I'm 70% general english. How boring... Yaawwwwn.

I did the other one back in college. I'm ISTJ but pretty borderline on everything. Actually, that's how all tests go with me. The one at work said I was very adaptable.
