Another weekend has come to an end unfortunately. And the work week starts out soggy just as it ended. The weekend was a good one. Niel and I had lunch on Friday. It's nice being able to have a lunch date with the hubby. We went to Monster Sushi. The restaurant is very cool. The tables and plates have their logo of what looks like a Perana and the window is decorated with neat Japanese movie monsters like Godzilla and Gamera. The walls were decorated with bamboo and posters of more Japanese monsters. The appetizers we ordered were Gyoza and Shumai which were tasty, but the Sushi itself (we had the combination of Sushi and Sashimi) were mediocre. Still fun to try a new place. After work I dragged Niel to the bubble tea place I stumbled upon a few weeks back. Niel did not enjoy the tea at all and like the last time it gave me a stomach ache. After a while Niel also got a stomach ache. So no more bubble tea for us. :(
We then practically swam home, ordered some Papa Johns (really good no more Pizza Hut for us...except for wings) and watched the Olympics. I love the opening ceremonies. It's nice to see all of the countries participating walking out, pretending for a weeks they get along. Although I like watching the games themselves; I especially enjoy watching the stories about the athletes and the country the Olympics is in for that particular year.
The rest of the weekend was spent cleaning and errand running. We did manage to sneak in some fun by going to the movies on Saturday night. We saw The Manchurian Candidate. It was really disturbing with all the gory scenes. I thought it was clever of the film makers to release the movie at this time with the election and all. I thought I would like it more than I would. I have to see the original.
