Do you know what this is?

Yes it is a cucumber. But do you know what kind of cucumber? It's a Persian cucumber. I found it while doing grocery shopping at a new supermarket. I like finding and trying different foods so I decided to learn more about them.
Persian cucumbers to me taste more cucumbery. They're also a little thinner than Kirby's which sort of look like little green eggplants to me. Thin on top a little wide on the bottom. Persian cucumbers are also seedless and don't really have to be peeled. Of course you wash them but the skin is quite mild. Their skin also isn't bumpy like a Kirby's is.

Surprisingly I did find it at a regular supermarket. Just one I hadn't been to before. I wish I could send you some but I don't know how they would mail.

Originally yes. They're also Japanese cucumbers, and English cucumbers. A few different varities.

But I think the Japanese cucumber has less girth and is shorter than the American cucumber ;-)

Really? The ones I've seen on the cucumber sites show the English and Japanese cucumber the same long size and shape.
