For most of my life I have been a nail biter. I think since I was in grammar school. Just one of my nervous habits. The fact that my fingers were going in my mouth didn't bother me. That I could be putting germs didn't gross me out for some weird reason. It was a compulsion. But three months ago I somehow stopped and I let them grow out. I didn't have the urge anymore. And this is what my nails look like now.

Ooh, pretty. I used to have really pretty natural nails all the time. I loved having manicured nails. Then I started working at the bank and the thought of all those germs in my nails was too much. I keep them super short now. As short as a nail biter. :(

I'm pretty adamant about keeping them clean.

Yeah I am adjusting to having longer nailes now. Typing is getting easier because I type on the bottom of my fingers and not with my tips which would hurt like heck. I tried that clear polish stuff it did not work.

Oooooh, pretty! I wish that my nails were that nice-looking! I like the polish color that you chose, too. Will have to try that pasta sauce ~ we're looking for a good one!

Have you found yourself picking up another habit now that you gave up nail biting?

Thank you Lisanne. It took me 30 years to get my nails like that though. LOL. Hope you like the pasta sauce. Let me know.

No actually.

Your nails look great. I have never been a nail-biter, but I have this other weird thing about my nails. I never paint them because when the paint starts to chip, it really bugs me and I have to take it all off at the first of chipping. Kinda OCD. :-)

Thank you. I have to take them off when they start to chip
also. I guess we all have our own quirks.

They look great! I'm still a nail biter. I've tried to stop several times.

Good for you! I'm still a nail biter and I do think about what I'm getting in my mouth along with my fingers and ocassionally it helps me resist. But I find when I'm sitting at the computer working on a site I can't help but knaw at my fingertips. I have some kind of thinking-oral fixation thing going on (I can also sit and munch while working. I guess nails are lower calories at least).

Thank you and for stopping by. It took me a very very very long time and if someone who would bite their nails down to skin showing without much thought and who tried everything there is hope I think for anyone who has this problem.

Thanks Shannon:)
